One of the popular conspiracy theories that swirled around Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady this offseason involved a rumor that he was in discussions to become part of the ownership group for the Miami Dolphins, and potentially even play quarterback for them, as well.
Brady, of course, ended up returning to the Bucs for a third season instead, but many still wondered if the GOAT might have ended up in Miami if not for a lawsuit filed against the NFL by former head coach Brian Flores, one that included startling accusations against Dolphins owner Stephen Ross.
After Thursday’s minicamp practice, Brady was asked about the Dolphins rumors, as well as his future plans after football (via Rick Stroud, Tampa Bay Times):
Tom Brady did not directly refute reports he explored opportunities with the Miami Dolphins but says he looked at a lot of things and is excited about trying to win a championship with the Bucs. pic.twitter.com/2hQ5sIgWPi

Who knows what those discussion were all about, and what potential options Brady had on the table before deciding to return to Tampa Bay, and then inking a record-breaking deal to call NFL games for Fox Sports after he eventually retires for real.
What is clear is that Brady’s sole focus at the moment is getting the Bucs back to the Super Bowl.
