However, those numbers are likely to change, facing a top-5 team, rather than Long Island of the FCS and one of the worst FBS teams from UMass.
The Buckeyes were a bit sluggish in their opener against Notre Dame, winning 21-10. Ohio State also wasn’t hitting on all cylinders in a 45-16 win against Arkansas State of the Sun Belt, and the Buckeyes are 0-2 ATS so far.

Money line
Ohio State (-5000) is just too heavily favored to seriously consider betting the money line. While the Buckeyes haven’t lost to a MAC team since the league’s inception in 1946, going 28-0 SU, the Rockets have put a scare into Ohio State before. In the most recent meeting in 2011, Ohio State won just 27-22 in Columbus.
AVOID.
Against the spread
This is the College Football Playoff for a team like TOLEDO +32.5 (-112). The Rockets have looked good in all facets of the game, but they have faced two tomato cans so far.
Ohio State is battle-tested already this season, winning a marquee game against Notre Dame. It looked rather disinterested against Arkansas State last week, and it likely won’t be terribly fired up to face a MAC team. The Buckeyes are likely looking ahead to their Big Ten opener against Wisconsin next Saturday night.
The Buckeyes will win, but the Rockets should be able to keep it within 4 TDs.
Over/Under
The OVER 61.5 (-112) is the lean here, but it is going to be really, really close. My preference would be to avoid the total, and just play the side. However, if you are dead set on hitting the total, Over is worth playing lightly.
