The Toledo Rockets (6-1, 3-0 MAC) and the Miami (Ohio) Redhawks (6-1, 3-0) meet Saturday at Yager Stadium in Oxford, Ohio. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET (ESPNU). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Toledo vs. Miami (Ohio) odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.
The Rockets and Redhawks square off in a potential MAC Championship Game preview. Miami leads the all-time series 28-22-1, with Toledo taking the most recent meeting — in 2011. That’s right, these conference and in-state rivals, through a scheduling quirk, haven’t met in over a decade.
Toledo coach Jason Candle is in his 8th year, and Miami’s Chuck Martin is in his 10th year, so this will be the first game for each in the series.
The Rockets scratched out a 13-6 win at Ball State last Saturday in a game played in ugly weather. Still, Toledo has failed to cover the past 5 games, while the Under (48.5) result saw its 3-0 Over run halted.
The Redhawks have ripped off 6 straight wins since losing at the Miami Hurricanes, scoring 27 or more points in 5 of those outings. Miami has also covered all 6 games since the opening loss and non-cover.

Toledo at Miami (Ohio) picks and predictions
Prediction
Miami (Ohio) 27, Toledo 23
Moneyline
MIAMI (OHIO) (+112) is a great play as short ‘dogs at home.
The Redhawks has played at home just twice so far, winning both outings, including a 27-0 victory against Bowling Green in their only MAC home game so far.
If there were in the Glass Bowl, I’d side with Toledo (-134), but it’s all about the Redhawks because they’re at home.
Against the spread
MIAMI (OHIO) +2.5 (-112) isn’t as appealing as playing it straight up, unless you strongly believe Toledo -2.5 (-108) is going to win by just a single point or 2 points.
Again, Toledo is 0-5 ATS in the past 5 games overall, while Miami is 6-0 ATS in the past 6 games.
Over/Under
OVER 47.5 (-110) is worth a look, but go lightly.
The Over has cashed in 3 of the past 4 games for Toledo, with the Rockets going for 35 or more points in those Over games. Last week, again, weather hampered both teams significantly, or the Rockets probably would have been a lot more prolific.
Miami cashed the Over last time out, and it has scored 23 or more points in all 6 games during the win streak. The Over is 4-2 in the past 6 outings, too. This won’t be a track meet, but it won’t be a defensive slog, either.
