Todd Gurley thanked the Rams one last time Friday – sarcastically.

Todd Gurley was in good spirits after the Rams shockingly released him on Thursday, sharing a funny tweet about getting fired on his day off. He made it clear that it was all business and nothing personal on Twitter, too, before agreeing to a deal with the Falcons one day later.

After his contract with Atlanta was announced, Gurley had one last parting shot for the Rams for releasing him.

He commented on the NFL’s Instagram post, writing “@rams thanks for the check today.”

He’s obviously referring to the money the Rams still owe him after cutting him before his contract even started. By releasing him when they did, Los Angeles took on $20.15 million in dead money.

Gurley seems excited about playing back in the state where he spent three years of his college life, also moving closer to his hometown in North Carolina. His time with the Rams didn’t lack excitement and success, but he’s onto greener pastures now following his release.
