Toby Fagan discusses committing to Tennessee, Marty Bradley

Toby Fagan announces commitment to Tennessee and head coach Marty Bradley.

Toby Fagan announced his commitment to Tennessee rugby on Wednesday.

Fagan has played hooker for seven years with Rebels Rugby in Roswell, Georgia.

The 5-foot-9, 200-pound Fagan also played long snapper for Roswell High School’s football team.

Fagan discussed his Tennessee commitment with Vols Wire.

“When looking for somewhere to play rugby, I knew I wanted it to be somewhere that I could not only play, but also feel at home,” Fagan said. “It was important I chose the right school for me, not just the right team.

“Luckily, it seems it happened on both as just a few months before Tennessee ended up winning the national championship, and after meeting with coach (Marty) Bradley, I was certain this was where I wanted to be.”

Tennessee won the national championship in 2021, defeating Bowling Green, 36-31, in the 2021 Fall Division-I Collegiate Club Rugby Championship.

Tennessee (11-0) outscored its opponents, 373-127, and recorded three shutouts in 2021.
