Tobias Harris on Sixers win over Celtics: ‘Expectations to be great’

Philadelphia 76ers forward Tobias Harris was happy with the win, but the expectation in Philly is to be great.

To some teams, going into Boston and handing a team like the Celtics their first home loss of the season is something to celebrate. For the Philadelphia 76ers? Not so much.

After knocking off the Celtics 115-109 on Thursday night, it felt like a statement win that they’re here to stay and that they will fight to the end, but Tobias Harris said that’s the expectations.

“As a team, we have expectations to be a great team so we’re not short of confidence,” Harris said. “We know the work that needs to be put in, but overall to come in and get a win in here against a good team, we haven’t been the best on the road so this is a good step in that direction of being better on the road.”

Harris had 23 points on Thursday night, with 17 coming in the second half, and he added eight rebounds and seven assists to his stat line. His performance on Thursday is a jump-off point for this team moving forward. They entered the night with a 5-7 road record which included losses to the Washington Wizards and the Phoenix Suns so a win like Thursday can be a step moving in the right direction for them.

The Sixers return home on Friday where they have been dominant at 13-0 as they host JJ Redick and the New Orleans Pelicans in his first trip back to Philadelphia. [lawrence-related id=21201,21193,21185]
