ORLANDO — Former University of Tennessee basketball player Tobias Harris came up big for the Philadelphia 76ers Monday night.
Harris, a power forward, scored 25 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out four assists to help Philadelphia edge San Antonio, 132-130, at Orlando’s Visa Athletic Center. He made 10 of his 17 field goal attempts in the contest.
It was the first win for the 76ers since the league restarted the 2019-20 season in a Central Florida bubble. Philadelphia lost to the Indiana Pacers upon its return to the court on Aug. 1.
After bouncing around the NBA, playing for the Milwaukee Bucks, Orlando Magic, Detroit Pistons and Los Angeles Clippers, Harris has found a home with the 76ers, since being acquired from the Clippers at the 2019 trade deadline.
Harris played at Tennessee during 2010-11 season. He starred for coach Bruce Pearl, making the Southeastern Conference’s All-Freshman Team. He was also a Second Team All-SEC standout.
