The Philadelphia 76ers are a team that has some big championship plans for the 2019-20 season. They are one of the more talented teams in the league, but they have yet to fully capitalize on their talent despite their 15-7 record.
The Sixers committed 21 turnovers in a loss to the Washington Wizards on Thursday night and it allowed Washington to score 30 easy points off those miscues. It all resulted in a 119-113 loss for the Sixers who still have not been able to figure out the hex that Capital One Arena holds on them as they have not won there since November of 2013.
Tobias Harris led Philadelphia with 33 points and seven rebounds, but he was visibly frustrated with the number of turnovers the Sixers committed.
“It was just bad execution,” he said. “It’s hard to describe. Sometimes you have dumb turnovers like a travel, but these were the ball just being thrown around and the double teams coming and whatnot so it was just a lot of bad turnovers all around.”
This has been a recurring theme for the Sixers so far in the season as most of their losses can be pointed to bad mistakes in most cases.
“That’s something that’s been hurting us all year too,” Harris added. “Like we’ve known that, we’ve said it in practice that we’ll be better with our turnovers so that’s something we have to key in on going forward.”
