For the first time since he was waived by the Houston Texans for disciplinary reasons, Tennessee Titans inside linebacker Zach Cunningham will square off against his former team in Week 18.

Houston waiving Cunningham, and most of the rest of the league passing on him after he hit waivers, has been a gift for the Titans, who promptly claimed a caliber of player not usually available late in the season.

And the move has paid immediate dividends. Cunningham became a starter almost right away, and he has played well in his three games with the Titans, while also leading the team in tackles in two of those contests.

Cunningham admits that he is looking forward to facing his old team and that the game means just a lot more to him because of that, but won’t be changing anything as far as his normal approach is concerned.

Not only does Cunningham have a chance to beat his old team, the Titans are also on the cusp of clinching the No. 1 seed, which they can do on their division rivals’ home turf with a win on Sunday.

Tennessee and Houston will meet at NRG Stadium in Week 18, with kickoff set for noon CST.
