The fallout from the Tennessee Titans’ 24-17 loss to the Chicago Bears continues to grow, and quarterback Will Levis is at the center of concern.
There is no question that the young signal-caller struggled under pressure against the Bears, which led to some questionable decisions and terrible throws. Missing open receivers and throwing two picks, he was really not up to the task. Levis finished the Week 1 contest 19-of-32 for 127 yards and a touchdown but with two interceptions and a passer rating of 52.5.
Moving toward Week 2 and the home opener against the New York Jets, Levis still has confidence in his abilities and is sure he has the confidence of the team behind him.

While this is great to hear, his performance is what will matter. The Titans went all-in on building around Levis in the offseason, adding weapons to skill positions and fortifying the front line. After one week, the team showed promise, and their approach was sound. They have an outstanding defense in place; now they need Levis and the offense to match the defense.
Levis wasn’t the only reason the offense struggled; the offensive line didn’t do him many favors. But he is the face of the franchise and the player the Titans are counting on to guide the ship.
Levis must play better, make throws, and make sound decisions. If he doesn’t, it’s going to be a long season.
