The Tennessee Titans faced the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium on Sunday in an AFC South battle for the ages.
It was a much better game than anyone anticipated, with the Titans scoring their most points since their Week 4 win over the Miami Dolphins.
The Titans earned their third win of the season in Week 12 behind a strong defensive showing and an offense that looked rejuvenated. There were a number of players who could have been our Player of the Game this week: Kenneth Murray Jr., T’Vondre Sweat, Harold Landry, Chig Okonkwo, and a few others were all considered.
However, Tony Pollard is responsible for keeping the Titans in this game from the beginning, so he is this week’s Player of the Game.
Pollard recorded 119 yards on 20 carries, averaging 5.0 yards per carry, and rushed for a touchdown, plus caught three passes for 10 yards. He put the offense on his back this week and made sure they got down the field. He did fumble the ball in the red zone, but his play the rest of the game covered that rare mistake.
The Titans now have a 1-1 record in the AFC South division, keeping their 0.5% playoff hopes alive for another week.
Next week, the Titans face the Washington Commanders at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland.
