The Tennessee Titans sit at 3-5 and have a massive game on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Another loss for Tennessee will all but end any realistic chance of a second-half run to the playoffs.
Technically, the Titans would still be mathematically alive, but they would have to essentially be perfect the rest of the way to have a chance of getting in the tournament.
Making a loss even worse, Tennessee will have then gone more than an entire calendar year without winning a single game on the road, with the Titans last road victory coming in Week 11 of last season (Nov. 17, 2022).
The Titans and Bucs will be dealing with one of the more lenient officiating crews that has thrown the fifth-fewest amount of flags (108) in the NFL, per NFLPenalties.com.
Alan Eck and his staff are set to be in charge of keeping Sunday’s game under control. Eck and Co. happen to be one of eight officiating crews that have had fewer than 95 penalties count toward its active total (excluding declined penalties, offsetting, etc.)
Listed below is each penalty that Eck and his crew have called through the first nine weeks, how frequently they called them, and which team (home or away) they’ve favored the most. All other penalties not listed either haven’t been called or were negated.
