The Tennessee Titans finished out the 2019 season as one of the NFL’s top four teams, with a 35-24 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game being the only thing that stood between them and a Super Bowl appearance.
But where did the team stand beyond the football field — specifically in terms of social media and Twitter?
Complex Sports puts the Titans at roughly the middle of the pack at No. 18 overall, two places higher than where the site ranked Tennessee’s Twitter account in the previous year.
The Titans were listed directly ahead of the Houston Texans (No. 19), and just behind the Jacksonville Jaguars (No. 17). The Indianapolis Colts owned the best ranking of the AFC South teams (No. 16).

Kind of curious that all four of those teams belong to the AFC South and are all ranked next to each other, right?
“Who saw the Titans coming this season? We sure didn’t. This account has an encouraging vibe that is consistent with the team’s up-and-coming fortunes,” the article read. “It also provides another angle on Mike Vrabel’s well-regarded leadership style. Everything Derrick Henry touches in the winter months turns to magic, so our proposal is this: Tennessee, give Henry complete access to the account in December and January. Talk about fire tweets incoming. Letting Henry control everything (we already know he can pass) might provide the boost this franchise needs to make a run to the Super Bowl….and a run into our top 10 in 2021.”
The Baltimore Ravens found themselves at the top spot on the list, while the Arizona Cardinals came in dead-last.
It’ll be interesting to see how much the Titans’ Twitter following, which currently stands at roughly 800,000, changes between now and the conclusion of the 2020 season.
