Titans to lose 6th-round pick to Packers from Reggie Gilbert trade

The Tennessee Titans will lose their sixth-round pick to the Green Bay Packers from the Reggie Gilbert trade.

The Tennessee Titans acquired outside linebacker Reggie Gilbert from the Green Bay Packers last August to bolster their linebacker corps. in exchange for a conditional 2020 draft pick.

On Friday, Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst told reporters that the pick will be a sixth-rounder, per Packers beat writer Wes Hodkiewicz.

The Titans were already down to six picks (their fourth-rounder goes to the Miami Dolphins via the Ryan Tannehill trade), but an initial report of the deal by ESPN’s Adam Schefter had the Titans giving up a seventh-rounder, so this news does come as somewhat of a surprise.

Instead of having one pick in each round except for the fourth, Tennessee will have no pick in the fourth or sixth round and two in the seventh, one of which comes via the Taywan Taylor trade with the Cleveland Browns.

Gilbert played in 11 games (five starts) for the Titans in 2019, totaling just one sack, three QB hits, and 22 combined tackles (one for loss). Gilbert is an exclusive rights free agent this offseason.
