The Tennessee Titans had what looks to be a solid 2020 NFL Draft, adding players like former Georgia offensive lineman Isaiah Wilson and LSU cornerback Kristian Fulton early on.
The latter move was at least partially brought on by the departure of cornerback Logan Ryan, and only time will tell if the Titans continue to the feel the need to bolster their secondary after this season.
Jake Rill of Bleacher Report seems to believe Tennessee will address defensive backs first in the 2021 NFL Draft, mocking South Carolina cornerback Israel Mukuamu to the team in the first round.
He also had the Titans picking at No. 19 overall, indicating that he doesn’t anticipate the team will finish with the same level of success they saw in 2019.
Walter Football has Mukuamu ranked as its No. 4 cornerback ahead of the 2021 draft and had this to say about him:
“Mukuamu was very good in 2019, producing four interceptions, nine passes broken up and 59 tackles. The sophomore put together a huge game against Georgia, shutting down the Bulldogs’ passing attack to lead the Gamecocks to a huge upset win. Mukuamu is a big corner who fights and competes. The question to get answered during his junior year will be if he has enough speed to be an early-rounder.”
Mukuamu totaled 59 tackles, 45 solo, four interceptions, one touchdown and nine passes defensed last season with the Gamecocks.
Heading into his third season with the team, he’s recorded 76 tackles, 58 solo, one forced fumble, five interceptions, one touchdown and 10 passes defensed.
