The NFL draft has been in the rearview mirror for a few months now, and fans all across the country are counting down the days until they get to see the team’s new draft picks on the field for the first time.

Despite the fact that we haven’t even seen these guys practice with pads yet, let alone play an actual game, Matt Holder of Bleacher Report decided to re-draft the entire first round of the 2023 NFL draft based on offseason hype.

The Titans’ original pick, Peter Skoronski, ended up going No. 8 overall to the Atlanta Falcons, so Holder had Tennessee selecting the next best offensive lineman on the board, Georgia’s Broderick Jones.

Here is what the B/R analyst had to say about the Titans’ new selection:

With Peter Skoronski off the board in this scenario and Nicholas Petit-Frere suspended for the first six games of the season for violating the NFL’s gambling policy, the Tennessee Titans offensive line would be in big trouble. They’d likely be relying on sixth-round pick Jaelyn Duncan as their Week 1 starter which isn’t exactly an ideal scenario.

This move makes a ton of sense since this was probably one of the likeliest prospects the team would’ve considered had Skoronski been off the board when the Titans were on the clock.

Nevertheless, as promising as Jones is, Skoronski landing in Tennessee was a borderline dream scenario, as he was arguably the best lineman coming out this year.

Needless to say, I don’t think the Titans are losing any sleep over how things played out for them.
