Titans somehow fall to 0-2 against Jets and Texans

The Tennessee Titans play down to the level of their opponents

The NFL can be inexplicable. Example No. 1: The Tennessee Titans.

The AFC South leaders have played seven games against teams that were in the 2020 playoffs. Their record in said seven games: 7-0.

The Titans have also played the New York Jets and Houston Texans, who have combined for a 2-16 mark in games against teams other than Tennessee.

We bring this to your attention because after Sunday the Titans are 0-2 against Houston and Gang Green following a 22-13 loss to the Texans.

The Titans are 8-3, with their other loss coming in the opener against the Arizona Cardinals, who didn’t make the playoffs in 2020.

Desmond King had two of the Texans’ four interceptions — three in the fourth quarter to snuff out the Titans’ attempted rally. Houston turned those and a fumbled punt into 13 points. The Texans also had two sacks.

The Titans had a six-game winning streak snapped. Their previous loss came to the then-winless Jets on Oct. 3.

Texans hadn’t won since the season opener.
