We’ve seen at least one NFL draft expert peg Arkansas wide receiver Treylon Burks to the Tennessee Titans at the No. 26 overall pick, and now we have another.
In the post-Super Bowl mock draft from Touchdown Wire’s Mark Schofield, the Titans select Burks in the first round of the 2022 NFL draft. Here’s Schofield’s take on the pick:
“We kick off a little wide receiver run with Treylon Burks from Arkansas. The Titans could use another weapon in the passing game, and an 11 personnel package with A.J. Brown, Julio Jones and now Burks gives the Titans a ton of ways to attack coverages. Burks might be at his best working downfield, on vertical routes along the boundary or deep overs and crosses from the slot, and would be a complement to what both Brown and Jones bring to the table for the Tennessee passing game.”
Finally, a mock draft that doesn’t have the Titans going after a position of strength like edge rusher or linebacker. We’ve seen that far too often this offseason.
Burks would provide much-needed depth immediately, while also giving a second wide receiver to build around, along with A.J. Brown. And, if Dez Fitzpatrick can right the ship after a shaky rookie campaign, Tennessee would have an intriguing trio to work with for the long haul.
Our Ryan Sikes recently did a breakdown of Burks, which you can check out below.
