Titans select Jahan Dotson in Mel Kiper’s 2-round mock draft

Kiper has mocked Dotson to the Titans once before.

ESPN’s Mel Kiper released his latest mock for the 2022 NFL draft, but this time around it extended two rounds. Of course, the Tennessee Titans don’t have a second-round pick this year, so it only contained one selection for Tennessee.

And that pick was Penn State wide receiver Jahan Dotson, someone who Kiper has mocked to Tennessee before. Here are Kiper’s thoughts:

The Titans need to get faster at receiver next to A.J. Brown. That’s not Robert Woods’ game. Dotson, who ran a 4.43 40 at the combine, caught 91 passes last season, 33 coming from the slot. He would give Ryan Tannehill more easy throws because he can scoot after the catch. Tennessee could also target the best offensive lineman available with this pick. On my board, that would be center Tyler Linderbaum (Iowa), and he could play some guard.

As Kiper points out, the Titans could also go with the top offensive lineman on the board. Along with Linderbaum, guards Zion Johnson and Kenyon Green were also available, as was tackle Bernhard Raimann.

I like Dotson, but not in this spot. If the top five receivers are off the board (Olave, Wilson, London, Burks and Williams) like they were in Kiper’s mock, I’d prefer Green or Johnson instead.

The latter was Kiper’s choice for Tennessee in his last mock draft.
