Titans select DL Vita Vea in 2018 NFL re-draft

The Titans rightly go in a different direction in a 2018 NFL re-draft done by Bleacher Report.

If the Tennessee Titans were to do things over in the first round of the 2018 NFL draft, they would certainly go in a different direction.

Not only did Tennessee trade up three spots on Day 1, they also selected linebacker Rashaan Evans, who showed promise early on but ultimately didn’t pan out.

Since then, Evans played one season in Atlanta but it would appear that didn’t go too well, either, as he remains available on the open market.

In a recent 2018 NFL re-draft, Bleacher Report’s Gary Davenport rightly has the Titans going in a different direction, with Tennessee sticking and picking at No. 25 overall instead and going with defensive lineman and former Pro Bowler, Vita Vea, who was selected 12th overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that year.

You might ask: why not Harold Landry?

After all, the Titans took him in the second round that year and would gladly take him late in the first if given a do-over.

Well, in Davenport’s draft, Landry actually goes three spots earlier to the Buffalo Bills, who originally held the No. 22 overall pick in 2018.

Regardless, there’s no denying Vea would have been a better pick in that spot based on how his career has panned out as compared to Evans’. Further, the Titans would have had quite the duo in Vea and Jeffery Simmons upfront, assuming a selection of the former wouldn’t have changed things in 2019.
