According to Aaron Wilson, quarterback Deshaun Watson and the Houston Texans have had “extremely preliminary conversations” about a new contract (H/T Texans Wire).

Wilson estimates that a new deal could pay Watson around $40-$42 million annually. Watson had his fifth-year option picked up earlier this offseason and is currently in the fourth year of his rookie deal.
