Titans reveal first look at Jadeveon Clowney in uniform and jersey number

Jadeveon Clowney will be wearing the old number of a long-time Titans defender.

When the Tennessee Titans traded Jurrell Casey to the Denver Broncos earlier this offseason in what amounted to a salary dump, it was likely done with the intention of making room for the signing of Jadeveon Clowney.

And now it looks like Clowney will be taking Casey’s old number, also.

The Titans’ Twitter account tweeted out a Photoshopped picture of Clowney donning the team’s jersey, while also revealing that he’ll be wearing Casey’s old No. 99 in 2020.

Casey isn’t the only recently departed Titans veteran to have his number given to a new player. Logan Ryan’s old No. 26 now belongs to rookie cornerback Kristian Fulton.

Some might see this as disrespectful given what Casey meant to this franchise for so long, but at least it’s not going to some random player.

Furthermore, the jersey numbers of other prominent past Titans are currently in use, so this isn’t something new and shouldn’t be blown out of proportion.

Interestingly enough, the Titans will open their season against Casey and the Denver Broncos on September 14 in what should be an emotional game that has no shortage of interesting storylines.
