Titans request interview with Commanders DBs coach Chris Harris

The Titans are reportedly interested in Harris for a job on the defensive staff.

The Tennessee Titans are reportedly looking to interview Washington Commanders defensive backs coach, Chris Harris.

This is according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, who notes the Titans are looking at Harris for a position on the defensive staff, and quite possibly for a “defensive backs/pass-game coordinator-type role.”

Per the Commanders’ official website, Harris has been coaching in the NFL for nine seasons, three of which has been spent as the Commanders’ defensive backs coach.

In Harris’ three seasons as Washington’s DBs coach from 2020-22, the Commanders have ranked second, 29th and fourth against the pass, respectively.

The Titans are definitely in the market for a defensive backs coach after the team parted ways with Anthony Midget earlier this week. Tennessee has an offensive passing-game coordinator in Tim Kelly, who may be up for their offensive coordinator job, but not one of the defensive side of the ball.

The Titans may have some competition for Harris, though, as Fowler notes he could get interviews around the league for defensive coordinator jobs, a role the Titans currently have filled with Shane Bowen.
