Titans request interview with Broncos OC Justin Outten for staff role

The Titans have reportedly requested an interview with Broncos OC Justin Outten, but it doesn’t look like it’s for Tennessee’s offensive coordinator vacancy.

The Tennessee Titans are reportedly interested in Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Justin Outten for a job on their offensive staff.

The news comes from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, but he did not reveal what position Outten is up for. As of right now, it looks like he’s not up for Tennessee’s vacant offensive coordinator position.

The 39-year-old only called plays for Denver the last two games of the 2022 season after former head coach Nathaniel Hackett was fired.

While just about anyone who worked with the Broncos’ offense is taboo after the season that team had, Outten actually enjoyed some success as the Broncos’ play-caller in a small sample size.

Prior to serving as the Broncos’ offensive coordinator, Outten was the tight ends coach for the Green Bay Packers (2019-21) under former Titans offensive coordinator, Matt LaFleur.

This is the fourth interview the Titans have had for jobs on the offensive staff, but the other three were specifically reported to be for the Titans’ offensive coordinator job.

The three candidates were Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy and senior assistant/quarterbacks coach Matt Nagy, and Atlanta Falcons quarterbacks coach, Charles London.

With the Titans officially hiring Ran Carthon on Wednesday, expect the search for an offensive coordinator to pick up steam in the coming days.
