The Tennessee Titans had a frustrating Day 2 in the 2023 NFL draft after making a pair of picks that left fans truly baffled going into Day 3 on Saturday.
Following their Day 1 selection of offensive tackle Peter Skoronski, the Titans traded up to draft quarterback Will Levis in the second round and selected running back Tyjae Spears in the third round to close out Day 2.
In the trade for Levis, the Titans swapped picks while also giving up their 2024 third-rounder.
The selection of Levis, who was easily the most polarizing quarterback prospect among Titans fans going into the draft, drew a negative reaction. However, that was not to be outdone by the reaction to the Spears pick.
Putting our bewilderment aside for now, the Titans have three more picks going into Day 3 of the draft, with one in the fifth (147), one in the sixth (186) and one in the seventh (228).
The sixth-round pick comes from the Atlanta Falcons via the Julio Jones trade, which also removed Tennessee’s fourth-round pick. The Titans don’t have their original sixth-round selection because of the Robert Woods trade.
Day 3 of the 2023 NFL draft will begin at noon ET. Immediately following the draft, the Titans will begin signing undrafted free agents.
