The injury hits just keep on coming for the Tennessee Titans, as the team has placed wide receiver A.J. Brown on Injured Reserve ahead of their Week 12 matchup against the New England Patriots.
Brown, who was ruled out on Friday with a chest injury suffered in Week 11, will now miss the next three games (not three weeks), which means the earliest he can return to the field is Dec. 23 against the 49ers.
With his addition to the list, the Titans now have their three best skill position players on IR in Brown, Derrick Henry and Julio Jones.
In other moves, the Titans have activated fullback Khari Blasingame off IR, and they elevated four players off the practice squad in wide receiver Cody Hollister, cornerback Breon Borders, quarterback Kevin Hogan and defensive lineman Kevin Strong.
Hollister and Borders are COVID-19 elevations, while Hogan and Strong are standard elevations.
Should any three of the group consisting of Hollister, Hogan, Strong and/or cornerback Buster Skrine play, Tennessee will break the record for the most players fielded in a single season, which currently sits at 84, two more than where the Titans enters the game at.
One player we won’t be seeing make his debut is wide receiver Golden Tate, who won’t be elevated for this game. The Titans and Pats will kickoff from Gillette Stadium at noon CT on Sunday.
