Titans’ pending free agents going into 2023 offseason

The Titans have a total of 34 pending free agents going into the 2023 offseason.

The Tennessee Titans will have a lot of tough decisions to make during the 2023 offseason, not the least of which what to do with the 34 pending free agents the team currently has.

Making the job of retaining those free agents — and bringing in more to improve the team — more difficult is the fact that the Titans are going into the offseason over the salary cap at $18.5 million, per Over the Cap.

Of course, the Titans will make the necessary cuts and whatnot to get back under, but how much remains to be seen.

Before we get to the Titans’ list of pending free agents, here’s a look at the types of free agents there are, and their definitions, per NFL.com:

Unrestricted free agent (UFA): Any player with four or more accrued seasons and an expired contract; free to negotiate and sign with any team.

Restricted free agent (RFA): A player with three accrued seasons and an expired contract. RFAs are free to negotiate and sign with any team, but their original team can offer them one of various qualifying offers (“tenders”) that come with the right of first refusal and/or draft-pick compensation. If the tender is withdrawn by a team, the RFA becomes an unrestricted free agent.

Exclusive rights free agent (ERFA): Any player with fewer than three accrued seasons and an expired contract. If his original team offers him a one-year contract at the league minimum (based on his credited seasons), the player cannot negotiate with other teams.

With that out of the way, the Titans’ list of pending free agents going into the 2023 offseason, per Over the Cap (note: all players are unrestricted free agents unless otherwise noted with “RFA” or “ERFA”).
