As expected, the Tennessee Titans have completed a pre-draft visit with Notre Dame offensive tackle Joe Alt.
The news comes from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, who notes that Alt and the Titans met on Wednesday, one day after the Notre Dame product visited the New York Jets, who pick three spots behind Tennessee.
Alt is widely expected to be the Titans’ pick at No. 7 overall if he’s on the board, and that would certainly make sense considering how bad off Tennessee has been at the position in recent years.
There’s been a lot of talk about Tennessee trading back in order to get more picks, but if Alt is there, the Titans should absolutely take him without a second thought.
Notre Dame OT Joe Alt, who is @MoveTheSticks' No. 8 ranked player and top offensive lineman, visited the #Titans yesterday and the #Jets the day before.
Picks No. 7 and 10.

If Alt is gone, a trade back makes sense, although I could also see the Titans grabbing one of the top-three receivers if they’re available. General manager Ran Carthon has repeatedly noted how deep the tackle position is in this year’s class and he may be confident in finding one in the second round.
Assuming they deal with a team in the early teens, the Titans would still be in position for one of the top tackles in this year’s class and they’d be armed with more capital to work with later on and/or next year.
