Titans’ Mike Vrabel doesn’t plan on firing any coaches

Despite calls for changes, Titans head coach Mike Vrabel said he doesn’t plan on firing any coaches.

With the Tennessee Titans in the midst of a dreadful season, many are calling for changes to the coaching staff, with some even wanting to see head coach Mike Vrabel get the boot.

It’s understandable given the ugly nature of this season, but it’s more than likely that Vrabel will survive this to get another shot in 2024, when the Titans will be in position to greatly improve their roster thanks to $100 million in cap space and a high draft pick.

And, knowing how loyal the Titans head coach is to his guys, it’s doubtful there will be major change — or any change, for that matter — in the coaching staff, whether that be now or during the offseason.

When asked about the job security of his assistants, Vrabel said the team doesn’t plan on making any changes, at least as of right now.

“I know what we are coaching, and know what we’re teaching,” Vrabel said, according to Jim Wyatt. “We’re going to continue to find ways to help our players, and demand they play with great effort, and improve our details, improve our fundamentals, because I know what works.”

Tennessee’s coaching staff certainly isn’t blameless in this hot mess, but we simply can’t ignore the talent deficiency this roster has, either.

It’s for that reason the Titans are likely to stay the course with Vrabel and, in turn, his coaching staff. However, the 2024 campaign should be a make-or-break one.
