Titans LB Otis Reese gets a shoutout in Baldy’s Breakdowns

Titans LB Otis Reese was highlighted in one of Baldy’s Breakdowns on Tuesday.

Tennessee Titans 2023 undrafted free-agent signing and linebacker Otis Reese received some attention during the preseason when head coach Mike Vrabel was downright giddy while expressing his excitement to watch the Ole Miss product play.

“I cannot wait to watch O-T-I-S in that preseason game and playing fast,” Vrabel said. “When he triggers — he triggered yesterday in the bubble and came through — there’s a level of play speed that when he is sure of where he’s going, is pretty cool.

“Excited for him to be able to go out there and play fast and see where he can find a role on special teams and watch him cover some kicks and watch him play on the punt return, and all those good things.”

Reese went on to make the Titans’ initial 53-man roster and played on special teams in the first two games of the season but was ultimately waived and  then brought back on the practice squad, where he remained until a promotion in Week 14.

With injuries at linebacker, Reese has gotten the opportunity to start the last two weeks and had his best game of the 2023 campaign in Week 17, when he tallied 10 tackles, the second-most on the team.

Reese caught the eye of NFL Network analyst, Brian Baldinger, who lauded him for the play speed and motor Vrabel talked about in the aforementioned quote.

Reese will likely stick with the Titans and be in line for a special teams role in 2024. But perhaps he’ll be considered for a bit more if he can finish the season strong and show out in training camp later this year.
