Tennessee Titans wide receiver Julio Jones made his much-anticipated return in Week 14 against the Jacksonville Jaguars after a stint on Injured Reserve with a hamstring injury that has plagued him all season long.
Jones contributed right away, catching four passes for 33 yards in the win, including a long gain of 16 yards that helped move the chains on one series.
But, perhaps most importantly, Jones came out of the game unscathed, as he noted following the contest.
“Just coming out of this game feeling the way I feel, I feel great,” Jones said. “I didn’t have any setbacks. I didn’t feel it throughout the game or anything like that. Just building days and building games, so I’m very excited. Moving forward for myself, I’m good. I feel great. No tweaks. No nothing. I’m solid. I’m ready to go.”
At one point during the game, it looked like Jones was hopping off the field as if he had tweaked something, but the veteran wideout stated that was just him being upset he didn’t get the ball on one particular play.
“I wasn’t hopping like there was an injury or anything like that. I wanted the ball,” Jones explained. “It wasn’t a hop like I was injured. I know I killed the safety, I had a safety on me, but unfortunately it didn’t work out. It is what it is. No tweaks or nothing. I am solid. I am ready to go.”
This is all great news for the Titans, a team that will be without its other star wideout, A.J. Brown, until at least Week 16. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill needs all the help he can get after having issues with a depleted receiving corps.
Now that the Titans have Jones back and healthy, they need the production to follow. The 32-year-old will get his next shot in Week 15 when the Titans travel to Heinz Field to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
