Titans’ Johnathan Joseph says he’d love to reunite with Jadeveon Clowney

Clowney hasn’t asked Joseph for any advice, though.

In his first Zoom call since joining the Tennessee Titans, veteran cornerback Johnathan Joseph made it clear that he’d love for free-agent pass-rusher Jadeveon Clowney to join him in Nashville.

The Titans have been linked to Clowney the entire offseason, but the biggest fish left on the free-agent market has yet to make a decision about where he will play in 2020.

It’s no secret that Joseph and Clowney are close friends and have known each other for many years, even before they were teammates with the Houston Texans. Both players hail from Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Joseph said he would offer advice to Clowney if asked, but so far hasn’t given any to him in regard to his free-agent decision.

Joseph is just one of a few familiar faces Clowney would see if he signs in Tennessee. Titans head coach Mike Vrabel was his former defensive coordinator in Houston.

Clowney recently stated that he was “waiting on the right opportunity” to sign, and that right opportunity might not come until teams can have their doctors check him out, but it remains to be seen when that will actually be possible.

Clowney had offseason surgery to repair a sports hernia but said he is fully recovered from the injury. He’s currently working out four days per week down in Houston, getting ready for the 2020 season.

The Titans remain one of the teams that are reportedly still interested in signing him, but it appears they are going to have to continue to wait it out if they want to bring him to Nashville.
