Titans’ Jeffery Simmons ruled out with knee injury

Titans DL Jeffery Simmons was ruled out of the Week 13 game due to a knee injury.

The Tennessee Titans are down a key defender in their Week 13 game against the Indianapolis Colts after defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons was ruled out with a knee injury.

Simmons suffered the injury in the third quarter of Sunday’s game. He exited briefly before returning, but then injured the knee again, which forced him off the field for a second time.

The former first-round pick was sent to the medical tent after that and was later spotted heading to the locker room with a towel over his head. He was ruled out just minutes later.

The Titans were up 17-16 when Simmons was ruled out. Big Jeff finished his day with two tackles.

It goes without saying that this is a massive blow to the Titans’ defense, both for the pass-rush and run defense, the latter of which had been playing well through three quarters.

It’s also worth mentioning how badly Tennessee needs Simmons ahead of a matchup with an elite offense like the Miami Dolphins’ in Week 14.
