Tennessee Titans defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons was on pace for a sensational season in 2022 after tallying 5.5 sacks in his first seven games.
However, Simmons suffered an ankle injury midway through the season, and while he was able to play through it, there’s no question it hampered him throughout.
During his contract extension press conference on Wednesday, Simmons revealed that his ankle is doing better after having a clean-up procedure, according to Josh Alper of ProFootballTalk.
“That has been my focus, my ankle,” he said. “I did get it cleaned up. I feel fine right now. I think the main thing is just keep getting that ankle better right now.”
Simmons, who is now locked in with Tennessee through the 2027 season after inking a four-year, $94 million extension, finished the season with 7.5 sacks and earned his second Pro Bowl nod despite the injury.
