Tennessee Titans defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons recently made a comment on his former teammate Derrick Henry playing for a new team, but his comment was misunderstood, forcing him to clarify.
Simmons was a guest on “The Rich Eisen Show” and basically said how weird it is for Henry not to be playing for the Titans anymore.
In his comment, people wrongly thought he referred to the Baltimore Ravens uniform as a “purple tutu,” but the Titans star was actually saying “purple 2-2,” as in the No. 22, which Henry wears in Baltimore.
“I won’t say weird, but it’s different,” Simmons said. “Getting on social media and seeing him in his purple 2-2, he’s really gone. Sometimes it’s just like, yeah, he’s in a Ravens uniform now.”
You can check out the clip of Simmons saying it and his clarification below.
lol false information Bobby, actually what I said was “Purple 2 2” https://t.co/spqZhy8Hq1

Rich Eisen himself even issued a clarification on the situation.
When things need corrected we're here to raise our hand, or in this case, the hand of @GrindSimmons94 — our guest earlier this week explained what he meant regarding @KingHenry_2 in Baltimore:#NFL #TitanUp pic.twitter.com/RV6Yp1IAkj

So, there you have it. Nothing to see here.
Simmons also commented on the Titans’ current running backs and expressed his faith that they’re going to be an effective duo.
“When you walk into the building, I believe in Tyjae Spears and Tony Pollard,” Big Jeff said. “When Tyjae first came in, I was a big fan of his. I think he and Pollard are going to be a one-two punch for sure.”
