Titans hosting free agent LB Will Compton

Free agent linebacker Will Compton visited the Titans this week.

The Tennessee Titans are hosting a familiar face in linebacker Will Compton, as was reported Monday.

According to Field Yates of ESPN, the team had him come to Nashville for a tryout this week. Compton finished out the 2019 season with the Las Vegas Raiders, and currently hosts his own podcast with left tackle Taylor Lewan.

The linebacker played a single season with the Titans back in 2018, posting 16 tackles and one pass defensed over 12 games.

Compton has spoken highly of the Titans, especially general manager Jon Robinson.

“Jon Robinson sits in meetings,” he said. “Unless you really needed to talk about something and save face, you never saw Bruce Allen around at all,” Compton said. “Jon’s really involved. Just the communication from the top down. It all starts at the tip-top.”

Last year with the Raiders, Compton recorded 41 tackles in nine contests.

Over seven seasons in the NFL, Compton has tallied 306 combined tackles, 168 solo, one sack and three interceptions.

It will be interesting to see where the free agent lands next — and if that will be back in Music City with the Titans.
