The Tennessee Titans are officially in the market for a new head coach after the team fired head coach Mike Vrabel on Tuesday in what was a surprising move.
For the vast majority of people, the Titans’ parting of ways with Vrabel in and of itself was surprising, but even the people who thought Vrabel might not be back were shocked, as it was figured they would trade him.
However, as both general manager Ran Carthon and owner Amy Adams Strunk made clear, the process of doing that would have taken time and hindered Tennessee’s chances at landing a top candidate.
Tennessee figures to target an offensive-minded coach who can help bring quarterback Will Levis along, but Adams Strunk said the team would not limit itself to just those types of candidates and will cast a wide net.
