Titans go QB, OT, RB, WR in Chad Reuter’s second 4-round mock draft

Reuter did a bit better for the Titans than his last mock, but not by much.

In his last mock draft, NFL.com’s Chad Reuter had a less than ideal group of picks for the Tennessee Titans, which included a trade up for North Carolina quarterback, Sam  Howell.

In his latest four-round mock, Reuter did a bit better for the Titans, albeit not by much. He has the Titans taking Howell once again, this time at No. 26 overall. From there, his picks are as follows:

Round 3, Pick 90: OT Daniel Faalele, Minnesota

Round 4, Pick 131: RB Brian Robinson, Alabama

Round 4, Pick 143: WR Kevin Austin Jr., Notre Dame

Here’s Reuter’s thoughts on Tennessee picking Howell:

Forget the comparisons to Baker Mayfield and Mitch Trubisky — they’re not representative of Howell’s ability. Tennessee could be the next team to select a quarterback with a veteran already in place (Patrick Mahomes/Alex Smith in Kansas City;Jordan Love/Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay; Trey Lance/Jimmy Garoppolo in San Francisco), as Ryan Tannehill’s up-and-down 2021 performance might very well still be weighing on their minds.

While I don’t mind the Titans taking a quarterback for the future at No. 26, I’m not sure Howell is a first-round talent. If it’s between Howell and one of the better receivers or offensive linemen in this draft, give me the latter two.

The third-round pick of Faalele is a solid one, as it gives the Titans the help at right tackle they need, although he might not be ready to start in Year 1.

Robinson is no doubt a talented back who could eventually succeed Derrick Henry and help out on third downs right away thanks to solid pass-catching and blocking skills, but I would have preferred a guard, tight end or receiver here.

With the fourth and final pick, Austin Jr. would give Tennessee the burner it needs. Ideally, the Titans would grab their wideout earlier than this, but the pick itself is a good one.

Reuter did better than last time around, but this mock still leaves a lot to be desired overall.
