Titans go OT, CB, EDGE, RB, DT, OT, QB in Sporting News 7-round mock draft

The Titans address multiple needs in Sporting News’ seven-round mock.

The Tennessee Titans have numerous holes to plug as free agency pushes on, but some of those needs will have to wait to be addressed in the 2020 NFL Draft.

In his seven-round mock draft, Sporting News’ Vinnie Iyer has the Titans taking care of some of their needs, however there are some issues.

Here’s a look at who Iyer has the Titans taking in every round of his mock.

Round 1, pick No. 29: Josh Jones, OT, Houston

Round 2, pick No. 61: Bryce Hall, CB, Virginia

Round 3, pick No. 93: Khalid Kareem, EDGE, Notre Dame

Round 5, pick No. 174: Javon Leake, RB, Maryland

Round 7, pick No. 224: Garrett Marino, DT, UAB

Round 7, pick No. 237: Jon Runyan, OT, Michigan

Round 7, pick No. 243: Cole McDonald, QB, Hawaii

Ranking the importance of the Titans’ needs is up for debate, but the top seven are undoubtedly cornerback, EDGE, offensive tackle, running back, defensive line, wide receiver and backup quarterback.

Iyer pretty much addresses all of those, with the exception of wide receiver, which I think is a position general manager Jon Robinson will at least take a look at with such a deep class at receiver in this draft.

Depending on what happens in free agency, the addition of a defensive lineman/end to replace Jurrell Casey should, at least for the moment, be significantly higher on the priority list than Iyer has it.

Other than those two things, this mock has the Titans filling their need for a right tackle for the future, adding a much-needed running back behind Derrick Henry, and a cornerback who can be developed into a starter.

I’ve been of the opinion that the Titans should focus on cornerback in the first round if there is one worth taking at No. 29, but there’s simply no telling how the chips will fall come April 23.
