Titans film study: All rise, Harold Landry’s breakout season is here

You can’t help but be excited when breaking down film of Titans OLB Harold Landry’s standout Week 3 performance.

The breakout season is now in session, the “Honorable” Harold Landry of the Tennessee Titans is now presiding.

The Titans’ defense looks different this year. We may only be three weeks into the season, but at this point watching the tape makes you feel like Peter Parker when he woke up and realized he was Spider-Man.

The coverage is sticky, the fronts are multiple, and in some sort of miracle unexplainable by science, the pass rush has been disruptive. All jokes aside, the Titans’ early success on defense has as many reasons as the galaxy has stars, but one of the stars burning brightest is fourth-year edge rusher, Harold Landry.

Landry went supernova on Sunday against the Colts with 12 total pressures. His 37.5 percent pressure rate is the third-highest in a single game in the Next Gen Stats era. That kind of performance will generate attention league-wide, but it is just the highlight of what has been a great start to a contract year for the young pass rusher.

Through three weeks, Landry has the third-highest pass rush win rate in the NFL among edge rushers, and he is second in the NFL in total pressures, per Pro Football Focus.

Whichever metric you choose to look at, Landry is balling, but the stats can be misleading at times; that’s why we have the tape! And in this case, the metrics and the film are simpatico.

Let’s take a look….
