Titans fans ranked as ‘the NFL’s drunkest’ of 2023 season

Titans fans were ranked as the NFL’s drunkest during the 2023 season.

Tennessee Titans fans had plenty of reasons to drink adult beverages during the 2023 season as they coped with the reality that their team simply wasn’t good.

Outside of rookie quarterback Will Levis and a few others, there weren’t many reasons to be excited to be a Titans fan during what was the team’s second-consecutive season without the playoffs.

Why do I mention alcohol? Well, it’s because Titans fans were recently ranked “the NFL’s drunkest fans” of the 2023 campaign by Vine Pair.

The rankings were based on blood alcohol content (BAC) numbers recorded by BACtrack, which showed that Titans fans had an average blood alcohol content figure of 0.093 when tested, the highest in the NFL.

Here’s more information on how the numbers were recorded, etc.

The team at BACtrack compiled blood alcohol content (BAC) data from over 28,000 positive BAC tests from Sept. 2023 to Jan. 2024 in order to determine just how much football fans are drinking on a team-to-team basis. From 6 a.m. the day of regular season games until 6 a.m. the following day, BACtrack measured the result recorded each time an NFL fan took a BAC test. All data was retrieved anonymously from users of the BACtrack app, which connects with the company’s smartphone-compatible BACtrack breathalyzers. (Each users’ respective team was taken into consideration and data was only analyzed if their data sharing option is turned on in-app, their location services turned on, and they have granted the BACtrack app permission to access bluetooth.)

There was a trend to note here, which wasn’t exactly surprising: teams that had a better season typically had fans who drank less, while teams like the Titans who had a bad season typically saw their fans drink more.

Hopefully the Titans can have a better season in 2024 so their fans don’t have to drown their sorrows, although Tennessee is in the midst of a rebuild so it’s not impossible for things to get worse in the first season of that process.
