After a long day of training camp, Tennessee Titans cornerback and third-round pick Elijah Molden understandably just wants to hang out with his fiancée — but his poor mother is paying the price.
While Molden’s dad, Alex, who is a former NFL player himself, totally understands, his mom, who wants to talk for multiple hours per day, apparently doesn’t feel he same way.
As a result, the rookie corner is limiting his mom’s calls to just two or three per week, something he says she didn’t take too well, according to John Glennon of Broadway Sports Media.
“(My dad) knows camp, so he knows that by 7 o’clock, I just want to chill with my fiancée,” Molden said. “My mom … she wants to call me every day for two hours a day. So I gave her like a two- or three-day limit (per week), and she took that hard. But my dad, he knows. He called me the other day and it was just like a two-minute conversation. Training camp is long.”
He’s getting a phone call TONIGHT. 😡 That little….. 🤬#slander, #ungrateful, #stilllovehim🙄 https://t.co/3pMXkVwHOm

The approach appears to be paying off, at least early on, as Molden drew praise from Titans head coach Mike Vrabel following the first practice of training camp.
“Elijah is off to a good start, he had some (pass break-ups) today, looked like he did a nice job in the open-field tackling drill as well,” Vrabel said. “He is conscientious, he is smart, and he is learning.”
Molden was taken with the No. 100 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft and is competing for the slot corner spot in what is an uncertain situation at the position overall for the Titans.
