Titans downgrade Tony Pollard, Amani Hooker to out

The Tennessee Titan downgraded Tony Pollard and Amani Hooker to out for the Week 17 battle with the Jaguars.

The Tennessee Titans received some bad news Saturday on the injury front that will have an impact on their Week 17 battle with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Tennessee announced that they have downgraded running back Tony Pollard (ankle/illness) and safety Amani Hooker (shoulder) to out. Both Pollard and Hooker entered the weekend questionable on the final injury report.

With Pollard sidelined, Tyjae Spears should see the bulk of the action and build upon his string of impressive performances. Pollard has been battling an ankle injury, but a report surfaced that he was being left in Nashville while battling the illness.

Hooker is the latest player in the secondary to miss time due to injury. Either safety Kendell Brooks or Mike Brown should step into his role, but this will be a big loss for the defense against the Jaguars.

The Titans and Jaguars will meet at EverBank Stadium on Sunday in Week 17 action.
