Titans DL Teair Tart’s appeal fails, will serve 1-game suspension

Tart’s infraction occurred during the Week 13 contest against the Browns.

Earlier this week we found out that Tennessee Titans defensive lineman Teair Tart had been suspended for one game by the NFL after he stepped on the leg of Cleveland Browns guard, Wyatt Teller.

Tart appealed his suspension, but per NFL Senior Vice President of Football and International Communications, Michael Signora, the punishment has been upheld and the rookie will miss the Week 14 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The infraction occurred during the second quarter of the Week 13 loss to the Browns, and based on the video evidence, it’s hard to say Tart didn’t do it on purpose.

On Thursday, head coach Mike Vrabel commented on the situation involving Tart and said he didn’t think the 6-foot-3, 290-pound lineman “did anything malicious” against the Browns.

A 2020 UDFA of the Titans, Tart has played in each of the team’s last five games, earning 22 or more snaps in three of them. His suspension is unfortunate, as he was playing well for Tennessee’s defense.
