As we continue to wait on any news of a possible contract extension between the Tennessee Titans and defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons, his agent, Paul DeRousselle, posted a cryptic video to social media on Friday.
Included in the tweet with the video is a clock emoji, and in it DeRousselle talks about his client, saying, “I can say this with complete confidence: our window is unequivocally Jeff’s entire career — and I stand on that.”
To be quite honest, I have no idea how to interpret this, if it is to be interpreted at all.
What we do know is that this isn’t a sign the two sides have agreed on a contract. Justin Melo of Music City Miracles reported in the wake of the video that negotiations are ongoing between Simmons and the Titans.

Because there seems to be some confusion on the timeline, the #Titans and Jeffery Simmons have NOT yet agreed on an extension, per league source. Negotiations remain ongoing.

This is just the latest in the Simmons contract saga and the first thing we’ve seen about him since he removed all mention of the Titans on Instagram earlier this month.
While there is rightly concern about his future with the Titans, the team does have time to get something done, with Simmons under contract for one more year thanks to the fifth-year option.
However, he has made it clear he’d prefer a new deal prior to taking the field in 2023.
Barring the Titans doing a full rebuild or Simmons having outrageous contract demands, I continue to believe Tennessee will keep it’s star defensive lineman for the long haul.
