Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel said on Monday that he was hopeful the team might get running back Darrynton Evans back this week, and the team has indeed taken the first step towards making that happen.
Tennessee announced it has designated Evans to return from Injured Reserve, where he has been since the beginning of the 2021 campaign. Now, Evans has 21 days to return to practice and be activated off the list.
Evans initially suffered his injury during the preseason Week 1 game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Injuries have plagued the Appalachian State product’s career so far. The 2020 third-round pick missed 11 games during his rookie campaign, and with four missed games so far this season, Evans has been absent for 15 of a possible 20 contests to start his career.
We’ll see if he can be activated in time for the Titans’ next game, which comes against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday at TIAA Bank Field.
