As if there was ever any doubt that Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry would once again win the FedEx Ground Player of the Year award once again.
Henry takes the honor home for the second straight season after rushing for 2,027 yards and 17 scores, both tops in the league. He was the eighth player in NFL history to top 2,000 rushing yards in a single season.
Throughout the course of the 2020 campaign, Henry won FedEx Ground Player of the Week five times. As a result of his winning the yearly version, the NFL will make a $40,000 donation to Direct Relief in Henry’s name.
It was a big night for Henry, who won one of the biggest awards of the 2021 NFL Honors ceremony on Saturday night, the Associated Press Offensive Player of the Year award.
Unfortunately, Henry didn’t win the biggest honor of the night, which was the AP Most Valuable Player award. That went to Green Bay Packers quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, as expected.
The Alabama product wasn’t the only member of the Titans family to take home some hardware, though. Titans fan Brandon Galloway was also named the first-ever NFL Fan of the Year.
