Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry has been nominated for FedEx Ground Player of the Year after his historic 2,000-yard season.
Henry is one of three nominees, along with Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook and New Orleans Saints rusher, Alvin Kamara.
The Alabama product became the eighth player in NFL history to break the 2,000-yard mark in 2020, finishing with a league-best 2,027 yards, which was the fifth-most in a single season in league history.
Henry also became the first player since LaDainian Tomlinson in 2006-07 to win back-to-back rushing titles, and he was tops among running backs in touchdowns and attempts as well.

While Cook and Kamara both had sensational campaigns, Henry’s legendary showing should make him a lock for the award.
Should the Titans’ star rusher take home the honor, it would be the second straight season in which he does so. Henry won the award in 2019 after totaling 1,540 yards and 16 scores.
Henry has already received some recognition for his incredible campaign, including being voted as the PFWA Offensive Player of the Year and a First-Team All-Pro. He even has a display in the Pro Football Hall of Fame that honors his memorable 2020 campaign.
We’ll see if Henry can secure one of the two big awards at the NFL Honors show on February 6 as well, as he’s in the conversation for Most Valuable Player and should be one of the favorites for Offensive Player of the Year.
