Titans’ Derrick Henry is Bleacher Report’s No. 1 free agent running back

Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox considers Henry to be the best at his position among 2020 free agents.

Standout running back Derrick Henry has been at the heart of the Tennessee Titans’ ground game for some time now, and is undoubtedly one of the most vital pieces of the team’s offense when healthy.

Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox considers Henry to be the best at his position among 2020 free agents.

“At just 25 years old, Henry is a prime candidate for a team in search of a long-term solution,” he wrote. “He’s received a heavy workload over the past two seasons but hasn’t been run into the ground like, say, Ezekiel Elliott. Elliott has seen 1,151 carries in his four-year career—while playing six fewer games—while Henry has just 772 rushing attempts.”

Just like quarterback Ryan Tannehill, Henry is in the middle of one of the best years of his career in 2019.

He’s already hit career-highs in rushing yards (1,329) and rushing touchdowns (13).

He has the third-most rushing yards in the league, despite not being at 100%.

Henry has been struggling with a hamstring injury lately, and it will be interesting to see what capacity he’s at as the Titans prepare to face the Houston Texans at 3:25 p.m. CST on Sunday at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.
