Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry is making it quite clear what he thinks about his team possibly trading for Atlanta Falcons star wide receiver, Julio Jones.
The latest on Jones comes from The Athletic’s Jeff Schultz, who reports that the Falcons would like to trade him, which has been well-known for quite some time.
The Falcons would like to trade Julio Jones. That doesn’t mean it’s 100 percent that it’s going to happen. That doesn’t mean some members of the organization don’t believe the future Hall of Famer can still play, when healthy. But Jones’ availability on the trade market has been clear almost from the time new general manager Terry Fontenot and coach Arthur Smith landed in Atlanta and realized the extent of the team’s salary-cap problems. Anybody who wants to deny that likely is doing so out of mere fandom.
The Titans were mentioned in Schultz’s report as a team that “also may show interest,” along with the Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco 49ers, New England Patriots, Indianapolis Colts and Los Angeles Chargers.
After the report was released and conversation once again started heating up about a potential Jones trade, Henry responded to a tweet with an emphatic endorsement of a potential Titans-Falcons trade involving the veteran.

King Henry isn’t the only Titans player to give his blessing on a Jones trade, as wide receiver A.J. Brown was also all for Tennessee bringing him aboard.
I would give up #11 if this happens. Playing alongside my idol would be crazy . No team is stopping this!!! https://t.co/2ZMQ1tCmBk

The last we heard about the Titans and any potential interest in a Jones trade wasn’t good news, as ESPN’s Dianna Russini, who is normally in the know with the Titans, said she hadn’t heard of any interest from Tennessee.
The biggest hurdle to bringing Jones in would seem to be the money, as the Titans would have to pick up about $38 million in salary over the next three seasons, and currently the team doesn’t have the cap space for that.
However, general manager Jon Robinson did say earlier this month that the team is “working through some things” when asked if the Titans could free up more money with contract restructures to add more players.
If the Titans can make it work financially, they 100 percent should bring Jones aboard while their championship window is still open — and Henry and Brown definitely agree with that sentiment.
